The site sits outside all boundaries of AOONB, SSSI, Conservation Areas, Heritage Sites, however we appreciate the importance of maintaining a balance of conservation and a small rural business. The site itself used to form part of the Hammer Mill Farm Estate, Over the years it has been used as a Hop farm, including the siting of several hoppers huts for living in, Sheep grazing field and an Asparagus farm.
Over the years the boundaries had been left to self-manage and became very unruly. Extensive work has been carried out with the forethought of using what areas we can to encourage wildlife of the ground and skies to live alongside us. We are currently working and will continue to work with Natural England to strike the perfect balance. There will be re-hedging, bee friendly plants, bug hotels, a wildlife pond and for our feathered friends, bird boxes and regular tree maintenance.
We aim to support all native animals and birds.
